Dr. Ahn introduced laparoscopy procedures at both Emory University Hospital (1974) and at Crawford Long Hospital (1975), as well as hysteroscopy procedures to Emory University Affiliated Hospitals, Grady, Emory, and Crawford Long hospitals. From 1974 to 1979, he conducted monthly post-graduate laparoscopy courses, 46 courses total, at Grady Memorial Hospital. He developed the Gynecologic Urodynamic Unit at Grady Memorial Hospital in 1982, and at Crawford Long Hospital in 1985; and has contributed to the establishment of the laser surgery service at Crawford W. Long Hospital. Dr. Ahn has been a Resident Research Project Sponsor for over 20 projects in urodynamics, sterilization, and endoscopy, reflecting his research interests. He is a member of numerous societies including the American Gynecologic Laparoscopists Association, Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, Fellow, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Southern Medical Association, and Fellow, British Royal Medical Society. Dr. Ahn has particiapted in numerous postgraduate courses and seminars around the U.S. and abroad.
