For more than 50 years, Emory University Hospital has served as a regional referral center for patients with difficult, special, unusual, and complicated problems. Gynecologic patients are an important part of its patient census. All patients admitted are private patients of full-time faculty members. This hospital has recently undergone an extensive program of modernization and renovation of all of its physical facilities and now has more than 600 beds. The hospital is located on the Emory University campus, close to the Division of Basic Health Sciences, the Emory Clinic, the School of Nursing, the Yerkes Primate Center, the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, the Emory University Rehabilitation Center, the Calhoun Medical Library, and all other schools and divisions of the University. Obstetric patients are not admitted to Emory Hospital at the present time.
