Application Info
The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics invites you to learn more about its Residency Education Program with the Emory University School of Medicine -- both the many clinical settings which we are able to provide for the best possible care of our gynecologic and obstetric patients and the didactic curriculum which we require our residents to study and to learn.

Residents in our gynecology and obstetrics department participate in patient care at six hospitals, which provide to us one of the most important assets of our program--a large and varied patient population. These six hospitals are
  • Grady Memorial Hospital--a two-county, public facility
  • Crawford Long Memorial Hospital of Emory University--a public and private community hospital
  • Emory University Hospital--a regional referral center
  • The Emory Clinic
  • Piedmont Hospital--a private community hospital
  • Veterans Administration Hospital--a public hospital
The Emory residency education program will provide you with opportunities for clinical experience, for expert consultation with faculty and peers at a higher level of training, and for research at excellent research and library facilities. Next to caring for patients, educating medical students and residents are the most important things we do.

Sarah L. Berga, M.D.

James Robert McCord, Professor and Chair
