A one-week training program designed to provide nurse clinicians as well as
other mid-level cliniscians (PA, CNM) a chance to expand their clinical and
leadership skills in the area of women's health. More specifically, the purpose is
to further the clinician's understanding, recognition and appropriate management
or referral of the spectrum of medical issues confronting women during their
reproductive years. Further, the educational experience introduces participants
to basic elements of health service dynamics, policy development, and general
leadership skills to assist them in advancing women's health issues in their
clinics, organizations, and communities.
The Leadership Institute is no longer offered due to changes in Title X
funding priorities, however, the RTC continues to assist previous
Institute participants in their local endeavors in Women's Health.
